Song Of The Day Depeche Mode "People Are People"

Today's Song Of The Day comes from Depeche Mode.  

I'm a huge fan of synth pop as you may know from reading this blog - and Depeche Mode was one of the early pioneers of this awesome genre of music.

Their sound got a bit darker after Vince left, and I enjoy both the uber poppy and the darker sounds they've created over the years.

"People Are People" has an amazing driving beat, it's catchy and just full of punch.  The lyric in this song will never be dated or irrelevant.  In fact, it's more relevant now than perhaps when it was released.

We just went through a particularly polarizing election cycle in the US and it seems every other day there is some form of violence happening in the name of one group or the other.  Black vs White, Democrat vs Republican, rich vs poor, etc. etc.

If I had my way, I'd be playing this song every day, throughout the day, on radio for two reasons.  1.) because of it's great message, and 2.) because most of "Top 40" music on the radio is garbage (IMHO) and we could use some good tunes to listen to when in the car!

Anyway - Take note of the lyrics.  We're all the same.  Let's all get along.  Let's all enjoy this song!
